Back talk: Do you swear by pre-shift stretches or trust your technique alone?
On my sites, I see electricians hunched over panels for hours... some do quick stretches, others jump right in. I've had my share of concrete aches, so I started doing light yoga in the morning, and it helped a ton. But a buddy of mine, also an electrician, says if you lift right and take breaks, you're fine. He thinks stretches are a waste of time. I'm torn because I've seen guys who stretch still get hurt, and others who don't seem fine. I've read mixed things online, with some studies saying it helps and others saying it doesn't. So, I'm curious what real electricians think based on their daily grind. What's the consensus here?

You mentioned seeing guys who stretch still get hurt. That's a REAL puzzle. What specific stretches are they doing, and for how long? Like, are we talking about a quick two-minute routine or a focused ten-minute session? I wonder if the type of strain from being hunched over needs a different approach, like mobility drills instead of just static holds.

Tbh, swapping static holds for mobility drills misses the point if you're not consistent.

Ever see guys do everything right and still blow out a knee? Makes you wonder if any of it really matters for our line of work.
