Woke up at 5:30 AM for the dawn chorus and my binoculars broke
I sat down with my coffee, ready to watch the robins in the oak out back, and when I lifted my binos the left lens just fell right out onto the grass. Has anyone else had a pair just give up like that out of nowhere?

Did you happen to get those binos from that big box store that had the sale last spring? I swear I read somewhere that a lot of the newer mid-range models have been having lens mount issues, especially if they sat in a hot warehouse for a while. Might be worth checking if yours were part of a bad batch or something, because that sudden fall out sounds like the glue or the retaining ring just gave up on its own.

Were they kept in a hot car or garage at all? I'm wondering if that heat cycling might have loosened something up over time. Kinda makes you question if the build quality is just going downhill across the board.
