Paid $40 for a premium bird feeder and it saved my dawn routine
I was tired of my cheap tube feeder cracking in the sun, so I dropped $40 on a heavy duty metal one from a local shop. Huge difference. The squirrels can't chew through it and the seeds stay dry even after a storm. I've been seeing chickadees and a pair of finches every morning now for two weeks straight. Totally worth the cash because I'm not constantly refilling or cleaning up messes. Has anyone else found a feeder upgrade that made a big impact on your morning birds?

Yeah, but @taylor.sean what kind of pole or hook are you hanging yours on? I bet the squirrels are using that as a lever to tilt the whole thing. I had that problem with my old one until I switched to a shepherd's hook that has a baffle built in. That stopped the tipping completely for me. You might not need a new feeder, just a better mounting setup.

That $60 feeder is just a challenge flag to them, ha - @black.jake's idea of the baffle hook worked for me after I tried everything else.

I paid $60 for one of those supposedly squirrel-proof metal feeders and the little guys still found a way to tilt it and dump half the seed on the ground. I'm convinced they just see it as a fun new challenge. Glad yours is working out though.
