My whole batch of potstickers turned into one giant blob last Saturday

I was making a double batch for a friend's housewarming party and I think I overfilled the wrappers or didn't seal them tight enough. By the time I got them in the pan, half of them had burst open and leaked all the filling into the hot oil. Ended up with this crispy pancake situation that actually tasted pretty good but looked like a disaster. Has anyone else had a batch completely fall apart on them and found a way to save it?

That "pan-fried dumpling hash" line from @the_william is basically what I had to do with my batch last month. You might not want to hear this, but the trick to saving it is to lean all the way into the mess. Instead of trying to separate the potstickers, just let them cook all the way through until the bottom gets that deep golden brown crust. Then flip the whole thing like a giant pancake and cook the other side. Chop it up into pieces with a spatula, dump it on a plate, and call it "crispy dumpling scrapple" or something. Nobody cares about the shape if the flavor is there and the texture is crunchy. The only real loss is the potluck presentation points, but honestly that gets you more laughs than compliments anyway.

Read some article about how street food in Thailand does this on purpose with their fried dumplings and they call it "broken dumpling salad" or something. Basically you just lean into the chaos and add some fresh herbs and a spicy lime dressing to make it a whole new thing. Works way better than trying to salvage individual pieces lol.

Man I did this once with wontons for a potluck and ended up explaining to everyone that "deconstructed" was the new hot trend. Called them pan-fried dumpling hash and people actually ate it. Felt like a cooking show con artist.
