Found a $20 bill in a jacket I hadn't worn since 2019
Last week I grabbed this old denim jacket from the back of my closet to do a load of laundry. Stuck my hand in the pocket before tossing it in and pulled out a crumpled $20 bill I must have forgot about three years ago. It was from a trip to Portland where I bought a coffee and threw the change in there. Has anyone else found random cash in their laundry and felt like you won a mini lottery?

Portland is expensive though, so that 20 probably cost you like $6 in gas and parking just to get there and another $8 for a bag of coffee. I found a $50 in a pair of shorts once and realized it was from a friend's birthday dinner where I thought I had lost it paying the bill. Ended up being the same money I thought I lost, so really it was just finding something I didn't technically lose. Feels good in the moment but I always end up spending it on something dumb like gas or takeout anyways, so the mini lottery feeling fades fast.

Read an article saying found money rarely gets saved, just gets spent faster.

Wait, do you just put it straight into your wallet or spend it right away? I usually toss windfall cash in a jar and forget about it for a week before touching it. That way it feels less like lottery money and more like a small treat, which helps me actually notice where it goes.
