Hit 10,000 cubic yards this week and sat in the cab for a minute just thinking

Been running a dredge for 22 years now and I remember when 2,000 yards in a season felt like a big deal, so this number caught me off guard. Anyone else ever have a round number like that make you stop and think about how the work has scaled up over the decades?

Think about how much dirt we've moved just with better pumps and computer controls, not bigger crews or longer hours. A guy I know runs a gold dredge and says the real game changer was GPS guided positioning, lets him run through the night without a spotter. Makes you wonder what the next 22 years will look like with automation coming down the pipeline lol.

Did you read that report about autonomous drill rigs already running in some mines?

Huh, @leo_fisher, you think GPS guidance is already changing things that much? What's the biggest hurdle you see for full autonomous dredging, the tech or the liability?
