Burned dinner because I thought pre-heating the oven was optional for frozen pizza

Tried to save 10 minutes by skipping the pre-heat on a $5 frozen pizza 2 hours before a party and ended up with a soggy middle and burnt edges - has anyone else learned that shortcuts with ovens just don't work?

Pre-heating the oven was optional" is absolutely wild. That's like saying getting dressed is optional before going outside. The box literally tells you to preheat for a reason, its not just for decoration.

...wait, hold on... they said pre-heating the oven is "optional"? That's just... I'm sitting here reading that and my brain short-circuited for a second. It's like saying tying your shoes is optional before a marathon... you're just asking for a faceplant. Those box instructions aren't suggestions, they're literally tested by people who know what they're doing. You skip the preheat and you're gonna get a soggy crust or unevenly cooked food every single time. I've seen people try to rush through a frozen pizza and end up with a burnt top and a cold center... it's just not worth the gamble.
