Watching a panel debate flip a student's mind in 20 minutes

Last month I sat in on a diploma mill awareness panel at the city library, and a woman changed her view on online degrees after hearing three employers say they filter resumes by accreditation. She had been pushing her son toward a $400 quick certificate that wouldn't even qualify for a job listing. Has anyone else seen a single conversation rewrite someone's whole education plan?
