The 6am train from Chiang Mai to Bangkok changed my whole packing system
I used to pack light but messy. Clothes rolled in one bag, cables loose, chargers tangled. Last month I took the overnight train and woke up at 6am needing my power bank for a client call. It was buried under two days of dirty laundry and a paperback. I missed the call.
A Thai woman next to me, maybe 60 years old, handed me a small zipper pouch. She said, "For the things that save your job." She travels with three pouches, one for tech, one for meds, one for documents. Nothing else. I asked her about clothes and she just shrugged.
So now I do the same thing. One pouch for chargers, one for my passport and visa papers, one for pills and a mini sewing kit. It takes me 10 minutes to pack instead of an hour. Has anyone else switched to a pouch system after a travel fail like this?

Train pillow fell out my bag mid-platform once, never found it.
