Torque wrench vs. German spec on injector hold-downs, where do you stand
I used to run my 12 valve injector hold-downs down by feel, just snug plus a quarter turn, and did it that way for years in my shop outside Tulsa. Last month I finally broke out the torque wrench and hit the book spec of 89 inch-pounds, and two of them loosened up within 300 miles while the feel method never gave me a problem. So now I'm torn between two crowds: the guys who say the book spec exists for a reason and the old hands who say feel beats a number any day. What torque do you all run on these, and has the wrench ever let you down?
