That time a 2005 Cummins taught me about heat cycling

I was helping a buddy swap injectors on his farm truck out near Lubbock and the old guy next door came over to watch. He pointed out we skipped the warm-up idle cycle and now I always let a fresh rebuild idle for at least 10 minutes before any load. Anyone else have a rule like that from a random encounter?

Yeah, heat cycling's real but I blew a gasket once from forgetting to torque the injectors right.

Did you end up torquing yours to spec after that?
