The grocery store on Route 9 started putting those plastic dividers right in the middle of the belt
I was at the Stop and Shop in Framingham last Tuesday and noticed they moved the checkout dividers from the end of the belt to a little holder right in the middle. Sounds small but now I have to reach across my own groceries to grab one while the cashier waits. The lady behind me just gave up and let her stuff roll into mine. Why do stores fix things that were never broken?

Oh man this drives me nuts too. The Market Basket near me did the same thing last month, moved the dividers to this little cup thing halfway up the lane, and I'm standing there holding a frozen pizza in one hand trying to fish one out while my ice cream melts. The worst part is the cashier just stares at you like you're the one holding up the line. And if you don't grab one in time your stuff just keeps rolling forward into the person ahead of you. Whoever thought this was a good idea clearly never actually shops for groceries.
