Hot take: I actually prefer slow walkers on the sidewalk
I know everyone here hates them, but hear me out. Last Tuesday I was power-walking to catch the 8:15 bus on 4th Street, and this couple in front of me was moving at a snail's pace. Instead of getting mad, I slowed down and ended up noticing that little bookstore I always zoom past. I went in after work and found a signed copy of a book I've wanted for years. Has anyone else ever had a slow walker accidentally lead them to something cool?

Read that slowing down actually lowers blood pressure. Makes sense to me.

Man, it's wild how true that is. I've been noticing this same thing everywhere, not just with blood pressure but with how we live in general. Everyone's in such a rush to get through their day that they forget to actually live it. @ray_campbell46 it's like we're all just racing from one thing to the next, and our bodies are screaming at us to slow down. I mean, think about driving, you're not gonna get there any faster by speeding and weaving, you just get there more stressed out. Same with eating or working, you're not gaining anything by rushing, you're just wearing yourself out. It's a simple fix but so hard to actually do when everything around you is moving a million miles an hour.
