Grocery store guy rearranged my cart while I wasn't looking
Was at the Safeway on 3rd Street yesterday. Had my stuff laid out in the cart by aisle order. This random dude just starts moving my bread and eggs around to fit his own milk carton. I came back and my chips were crushed under his 2-liter. Now I keep one hand on the cart handle at all times. Has anyone else had strangers touch their groceries?

Did you see that study about how people treat grocery carts like personal space bubbles? I swear I read somewhere that touching someone else's cart without asking is like a top ten social violation or something. Idk, maybe it's just me but I feel like the cart is practically an extension of your body when you're shopping, like a temporary little territory. Rearranging stuff in there feels super invasive, especially when it's your bread and eggs that are getting messed with.

My friend Laura had this happen at a Kroger last year. Some woman just reached into her cart and moved her yogurt to shove a giant pack of toilet paper on top of it. Laura said she stood there frozen for a second, then just started putting her stuff back exactly how she had it while the woman watched. The woman got all huffy and Laura told her to mind her own cart, not someone else's groceries.

Ngl, you just unlocked a new fear I didn't know I had. The audacity of that guy to just rearrange someone else's cart like he thinks he's the grocery store manager or something. Honestly, I would have walked over and started moving his cans around just to see how he liked it. Tbh, your eggs are sacred territory - everyone knows that's a universal law. Crushed chips should be grounds for a public shaming, not gonna lie.
