Pro tip: I traded my old Keurig for a French press and I'm never going back
A guy two blocks over on Craigslist offered me his barely used French press for my Keurig that had been sitting in my pantry for like 8 months. I made the swap on a Tuesday at a gas station parking lot and honestly the coffee tastes way better now even though it takes 4 extra minutes. Has anyone else traded an appliance and ended up liking the "worse" one more?
Calling it the "worse" one is a little off, in my experience, since a French press is just a different way to make coffee, not a downgrade. You do get a fuller cup because the mesh lets more oils through, but it also means a coarser grind and a bit more cleanup, so it's a fair trade rather than a worse machine. Your mileage may vary, but most folks who switch stick with it once they get the timing down.
