Old bread machine worth it after 40 pounds of flour
I picked up a beat-up bread machine from a garage sale in Pittsburgh for 8 bucks last month, mostly as a joke because I figured I'd never use it. Turns out I've run it 12 times now and I calculated the flour cost vs buying bakery loaves, I'm saving about 22 cents per loaf and I've made 40 pounds of dough total. What surprised me is that the manual said to add a tiny bit of vinegar to the dough for texture, and that actually helped the crust way more than any fancy setting. Anyone else found a random kitchen gadget that weirdly became a regular thing? I'm curious if I should hunt down more attachments for it or just pass it on when I get bored.
