That bread book probably had flour handprints on page 47 from her making the same loaf every Sunday for 30 years. And now some stranger on the internet owns it because a $15 lamp felt like a fair trade in that moment. The numbers never match up with stuff like this, do they? You drove 40 miles for a handoff, and he handed over a piece of his whole life.
