PSA: my $120 sewing machine jammed mid quilt and I fixed it with a q-tip
I was 6 rows into a baby quilt for my sister's shower on Saturday when my old Brother machine started chewing thread and making this awful clunking sound. I panicked because the shower is in 3 weeks and a new machine was not in the budget. Turns out a wad of lint the size of a marble had packed itself under the bobbin case, which I never clean because I did not know you are supposed to. Took the plate off, dug it out with a q-tip and some tweezers, rethreaded, and it purrs like new. What is the weirdest gunk you have pulled out of a machine you almost gave up on?
