Am I the only one who got told my crochet edges looked like a staircase and now I can't unsee it?
Last week at my Wednesday crochet group in Tulsa, a woman named Deb looked at my granny square blanket and said, "Your corners are climbing on you, hon." I didn't know what she meant until I laid it flat and saw the right edge going up like stairs, about half an inch off over 20 rows. So now I'm team "turn your work every single row and count the chain 3" while my friend Kim swears by "just loosen up and let it breathe." I ripped out 12 rows to try Deb's way and the edge looks way straighter, but it's slower and boring. Which side are you on, the tight counter or the loose rider? And does anyone have a trick for keeping the turning chain from leaving that little gap?
