My dog's leash clip popped off mid-walk on Beacon St and a stranger's hair tie saved us
Last Tuesday it was pouring rain and we were about 6 blocks from home when my dog lunged at a squirrel and the cheap clip on her leash just snapped open. She took off toward the intersection and I froze for a second because I had nothing to grab. A woman jogging by yanked a hair tie out of her ponytail and looped it through the collar and handle in like 5 seconds, and we walked the rest of the way home double looped. Now I keep 3 spare hair ties wrapped around the handle and I check that clip every single time before we leave. Has anyone else had a clip fail, and did you swap to a carabiner or something stronger?
