Changed my mind about the 7:15 bus after a rainy Tuesday morning

Last week, I was stuck waiting for the 7:15 bus in a downpour, totally soaked. This guy in a bright yellow raincoat saw me and just waved me over to share his huge umbrella without saying a word. We stood there for maybe eight minutes until the bus came, and he just smiled and got on a different bus. I used to think that route was just full of grumpy people trying to get to work, but that one quiet guy proved me wrong. Anyone else have a small moment on their ride that just flipped a view they had?

Man, that's awesome. Always keep a packable rain jacket in your bag, even if the forecast looks clear. You never know when you'll need it, or when you'll be the person with the extra cover for someone else.

Oh totally. My buddy got caught in a downpour last month and his cheap packable jacket saved his phone from getting fried. He said he felt like a hero, @gavinwells, because he had a spare one to lend to this soaked stranger at the bus stop. The guy was just in a t-shirt and looked miserable.

Yeah, that's a solid rule to live by! It makes me wonder, what brand of packable jacket does your buddy use? I've had some that just feel like a plastic bag and others that are actually decent. Is his one of those that stuffs into its own pocket?
