Warning: My antique coin turned out to be a 1943 steel penny worth way more than I thought

Found an old coin jar at my grandma's house last month and almost tossed a dark looking penny. Looked it up online and turns out it's a 1943 steel cent, not just some weird discolored one. The value on some collector sites says up to $100 for good condition. Mine has a tiny nick but still. Where do you even get these things officially appraised around here?

Held onto a coin long enough to forget you even had it? That's wild to me, I lose everything within a week.
