After ten years tracking down a specific baseball card, I'm glad I never caved and paid the high online price.

Everyone says to just order it and be done, but finally spotting it in a flea market box made the whole wait totally worth it lmao.

The hunt is the whole point, isn't it. Paying online kills the story. That feeling of digging through a dusty box and finally seeing it there, that’s the real prize. My shelf has a few things that only got there after years of looking, and they just mean more. Getting it the easy way would have made it just another thing.

The story is better than the thing anyway.

Stopped checking online stores for an old band shirt years ago. Found it crumpled at a thrift store for two bucks last summer. Felt like winning a tiny lottery after giving up.
