Used the same 3 words for every prompt in my notebook and the difference after 2 weeks shocked me
I keep a little notebook where I write one prompt a day, just a sentence to get going, and for the longest time every single one started with "a person who..." Over 14 days I forced myself to open each prompt with a sound, a smell, or a number instead, stuff like "the kitchen smelled like burnt toast" or "3 blocks from the river." By day 10 the scenes were coming out twice as long and I had to stop myself from writing past the page. Turns out my problem was never ideas, it was the same boring doorway into every single one. Anybody else find that a tiny rule change on the front end unlocks way more than it should?
