My prompt list for a short story contest got wiped by a browser crash in Denver, and I rebuilt it from a coffee shop napkin
Last Thursday I was about 40 minutes into sorting 30 story prompts for a local contest when Chrome froze and the tab closed on me. I had typed them straight into a notes page with no save, so all I had left was a half crumpled napkin from the shop on Colfax with 6 ideas scribbled on it. I spent the next two hours rebuilding from that napkin and honestly the new list was sharper because I dropped the weak ones I could not even remember. Turns out losing 24 prompts made me keep only the ones that stuck in my head, which is a decent test. How do you all keep prompt lists backed up, plain doc, notebook, or something else?
