Went with the wireless load cell over the wired one on our 60-ton, and the first pour told me everything
We had to pick between a wired load cell setup and a wireless one for our 60-ton Grove when we replaced the old system back in April. I pushed hard for wired because it costs about $1,800 less and I figured wireless would drop signal on busy sites. My partner wanted the wireless so nobody has to run cable up the boom every time. We flipped a coin and went wireless, and on the first concrete pour at the Riverside job the display cut out twice for maybe three seconds each. Turns out the fix was simple, we moved the receiver off the ground and clamped it to the outrigger pad instead. Ten jobs later and it hasn't blinked once, and we saved roughly 40 minutes of setup every morning. Anyone else running wireless on their rig, and where do you mount the receiver so it stays solid?
