Shoutout to the inspectors in Miami for setting me straight
I took a job in Miami a while back to help with a high-rise. The local inspectors have different rules for crane work in high wind areas. I did not check their specific codes before I got there. They almost sent me home because my plan did not match their standards. Now I always call ahead to confirm everything.

Yeah that's a rough lesson to learn. Local rules can be crazy specific, especially with weather stuff. Calling ahead is the only way, saves you from getting totally shut down on site. Could have been a real expensive mistake.

Actually, sometimes you just gotta show up and wing it.

My cousin tried to get a permit for a backyard fire pit last month. The city website said one thing, but the actual inspector had a whole other list. Honestly feels like that with half the stuff you try to do now.
