My outrigger pad sank in a backyard in Fresno and the homeowner asked if that was supposed to happen
I was setting up a 40 ton rig to lift a spa over a fence in Fresno when the ground gave out under the front left outrigger and the whole thing tilted about 4 inches. The homeowner came out with a lemonade and just said "is it supposed to lean like that?" while I'm standing there trying to figure out if I need to call for a bigger pad or just pack up and go home. Has anyone else had soft ground eat an outrigger on a job they thought was solid?
Wait, the homeowner came out with a LEMONADE?? That is wild. Your rig is tilting 4 inches and this guy is standing there handing you a drink like it's a normal Tuesday. I would have lost my mind right there. 40 tons leaning on soft Fresno dirt is no joke and he's worried about nothing. That calm response almost makes it worse than if he'd been yelling at you.
