Hit 5,000 hours on my Liebherr this morning and the number hit me weird
Climbed up for a 6am pick at the port in Newark and the hour meter read 5,000.0 on the nose. I've been running this LTM 1090 for about four years now and never once looked at that number until today. The funny part is I did the math on the drive home and 5,000 hours works out to roughly 208 full days of sitting in that seat, which is nuts because most of it was just waiting on riggers or the wind. My old man ran a 22-ton Galion for 30 years and I don't think he ever knew his hours. Kind of made me wonder how many of those 5,000 I actually spent swinging loads versus staring at a radio. Do any of you track your seat time or just let the meter do its thing?
