Vent: my sister in law says knick knacks make a shelf look messy, I couldn't disagree more
She came over last weekend and told me my reading corner in the spare room looked cluttered because of the little ceramic fox and the three rocks my kid painted. I told her a shelf with nothing but straight rows of spines feels like a store display, not a place you want to sit with a mug for an hour. The fox was $2 at a yard sale in Dayton and it stays. Does anyone else keep small stuff on their shelves on purpose, or am I the odd one here?
