TIL a vertical monitor mount changed my whole desk vibe after 3 years of hating on them

I always thought those tall monitors were just for people who code (I don't) and looked weird (they do). Last month my friend Sarah in Portland set me up with her old one for free, just to try it. I hooked it up to my 10 year old MacBook and now I keep Spotify up top and my notes below, no more scrunched tabs. Who else figured out a cheap tweak that made your desk feel brand new?

Wait, Spotify up top and notes below? Isn't that just splitting your screen horizontally though? I thought the whole point of a vertical monitor was for long documents or code where you need the height. You just made me realize I might be using mine totally wrong.

rubyshah my setup is like a weird twisted version of vertical since I put a tablet on a bookstand next to the main screen, got the whole thing for free from a neighbor. Spent years just thinking more desk space was the answer when really all I needed was something propped up high instead of flat. Funny how a cheap paperweight fix can trick your brain into feeling like you got a whole new workstation.
