My coworker's tiny lamp changed my whole desk philosophy

Back in March, I was over at a friend's place in Austin helping him rearrange his home office, and he had this dinky little Ikea lamp, the ones that clip onto the edge of the desk. I laughed and said it looked like a toy. He didn't get defensive, just turned off the overhead light and flipped that lamp on, and suddenly the whole room felt different. The shadows softened, the screen glare vanished, and I could actually focus on my keyboard without squinting. I had been running a big bright ceiling light for years thinking bright meant productive. That one chat convinced me to ditch my overhead entirely and build a layered setup with a warm task light and a dim corner glow. My neck pain is gone too, which I didn't expect. Now I'm curious, has anyone else swapped their main light for a tiny one and never looked back?
