The barista in Asheville poured my drip coffee at 175 degrees and it tasted like a different drink
I always thought letting it cool a bit was just about not burning my mouth, but he said most drip machines brew way too hot and cook the oils. Now I'm wondering if my $30 Mr. Coffee at home is doing the same thing, what temp do you all brew at?
Check your machine with a cheap thermometer, most of those little drip makers run way past 200 and scorch the grounds. Try letting it sit a minute or two before you drink it and you'll taste the difference right away.
