My buddy in Portland laughed at me for weighing beans, then I made him two cups
Last Friday my friend Dan was over and watched me pull out a $15 scale to weigh 18 grams of beans, and he said I was being ridiculous and that a scoop worked fine for his grandpa for 40 years. So I made two cups side by side, one with my weighed dose and one with his heaping scoop, which turned out to be closer to 26 grams. His cup tasted bitter and muddy and mine tasted like actual cherry and chocolate, and he went quiet after the first sip. Two days later he texted me a photo of a scale he ordered. Does anyone here weigh their beans, or am I the weird one for turning coffee into a science project?
