Tried adding fairy lights inside my fort and it was a disaster

I thought stringing some cheap LED fairy lights inside my blanket fort would make it super cozy for reading. Turns out the lights got tangled in the blankets and pulled down my whole setup in about 5 minutes. I learned I should have stuck them to the ceiling with command strips first instead of just draping them loose. Has anyone else had this happen or found a way to make lights work without collapsing everything?

Oh man, "pulled down my whole setup" is exactly what happened to me too. I switched to using those little clip-on book lights instead (the bendy kind) and just clipped them to the top blanket folds. Way less drama and you can aim the light wherever you want without worrying about collapse. Also, if you're really set on fairy lights, try using those adhesive cable clips to stick the string to the ceiling fabric first. I did that once with a really lightweight strand and it held okay (just don't use the heavy ones with the plastic coating). Another trick is to weave the lights through a cardboard frame first and then hang that frame from the fort ceiling. That way the weight is spread out across a solid base instead of pulling on one spot.
