Clipped my thumb with a razor comb at 9am and kept working anyway
I was doing a men's fade on a walk-in Tuesday morning, not even half awake yet, and I nicked the hell out of my thumb joint with a razor comb. Blood everywhere, client didn't even notice because I just wrapped it in a paper towel and kept going. Finished the cut one-handed basically, got him out the door with a solid fade. But my thumb still throbbed for the next 3 hours while I did two more color services. Nobody tells you how much you use your thumb until you can't use it. Has anyone else had to push through a dumb injury mid-service and just prayed nobody asked to see your hand?

Man that thumb joint spot is the worst. I did the same thing with a pair of shears last year cutting my own hair at 2am before a road trip. Blood dripped on the bathroom sink for 20 minutes but I just kept going cause I was already halfway through. Thumb swelled up like a grape for two days after that. You really don't realize how much you grip stuff with your thumb until you can't. I bet that fade still looked clean though, respect for finishing the job one handed.

My buddy did this exact same thing last month. Wrapped his finger in a strip of nitrile glove and electrical tape and kept cutting. Said the tape made his finger go numb but at least the bleeding stopped.
