The punch list complaint that changed how I run morning briefings

A GC on a Reno job in Austin told me my crew's daily updates were 'all words, no numbers,' so now I make everyone text me three metrics before 7am: crew count, weather delay status, and materials on site. Has anyone else gotten feedback that forced them to simplify their reporting?

Man, that hits close to home. I had a super similar wake up call a few years back when a client basically said my weekly reports read like a novel with no plot. It stung at first, but honestly, it forced me to cut everything down to the bare bones. Now we do a simple checklist before 9am, just the essentials, and it saves everyone a headache. Your three metric thing sounds brutal but really smart. Take it with a grain of salt, but sometimes the blunt feedback is the only kind that actually sticks.
