Blowout on I-40 with a loaded lowboy, what a mess
Last month I was hauling a mini excavator from Nashville to Knoxville on I-40 and the rear trailer tire blew near Cookeville. The load shifted about 2 feet before I got it stopped, which scared the crap out of me since I had straps and chains on. I had to call a local wrecker with a boom to re-seat the machine, cost me $450 and 4 hours on the shoulder. Has anyone else had a load shift after a blowout, and do you use any extra bracing on the rear to prevent it?

A block of wood chained to the deck behind the tracks wouldve stopped that shift dead in its tracks.
