My bull float handle snapped clean off on a big pour in Phoenix last Thursday

It was a Marshalltown 48 inch magnesium float, and the aluminum handle just gave way right at the joint when I was pulling back. Had to scramble and finish the section with a hand trowel, which threw off my whole rhythm. Anyone else had a handle fail like that on a hot day? What's a more solid brand you'd trust?

Yeah, "threw off my whole rhythm" is putting it nicely. That's the kind of day where you just stand there for a second, staring at the broken handle like it personally betrayed you (which it did). I saw @michael_jenkins39 mentioned his buddy's handle snapping too, so maybe that Phoenix heat is just cooking the aluminum until it gives up. You go from a nice, smooth pull to suddenly having to scramble and patch things up with a hand trowel, and the whole section looks like you did it with your eyes closed. Makes a long day feel even longer.

My buddy’s handle snapped in the heat too, so he switched to a Goldblatt and hasn’t looked back.

Saw a few guys on a job site swearing by Goldblatt trowels for heavy use.
