Hit 10,000 sq ft of stamped work this season and my forearms feel every foot of it
I was adding up my pour sheets from this season and realized I crossed 10,000 square feet of stamped patios and walkways since April, which is way more than I figured I'd get done. The stamped stuff takes so much longer than flatwork, so seeing that number kind of surprised me, even if my hands are paying for it now. Any of you keep a running total of your square footage for the year, or is that just me being a nerd about it?
Did you ever read that thread on here a while back about how guys track their numbers? Someone posted that a stamped job eats up something like two to three times the labor of plain flatwork, mostly in the finishing and the release and the touch up. That math checks out with my own season. I only got about 4,000 feet of stamped done and it felt like I poured twice that much. Keeping a running total sounds smart, mostly so you can see what your bids should really look like next year. Then again my hands might not want to know.
