Finally gave in and tried that new spray-on curing compound

I was sure it was just a gimmick, but it kept a 30-yard slab in Kansas City from cracking in that heat wave last July. What other new products have you guys actually had good luck with?

Man, I hear you on being a skeptic. I swore those new rapid-set patching compounds were just overpriced junk until one saved my rear on a Friday afternoon sidewalk repair. It set up fast enough to open the walkway before the weekend crowd hit. Have you tried any of those fiber-reinforced overlay products yet?

That rapid-set save sounds lucky, but I've seen too many of those fast patches fail after a freeze-thaw cycle. The fiber stuff seems like another band-aid fix for problems that need full-depth repair. Honestly I'd rather wait and do it right with standard mix.

How many freeze-thaw cycles did those rapid-set patches you saw fail through? I'm curious if they cracked after just one rough winter or if it took a few years.
