Dropped $340 on a 6 foot bull float that was too big for 90% of my work
Bought a 6 foot bull float about 8 months ago thinking bigger meant faster. Used it on a driveway pour in Amarillo and it was so long I couldn't keep it flat on the crowned section. Ended up with a dip in the middle and had to rework it. Lost half a day and the homeowner noticed. The float sat in my truck for months after that. Turns out a 4 foot is plenty for most residential work and way easier to control. That $340 could have gone to a new hand float and a couple of edges. Anyone else go too big on a tool and regret it?
