Why does nobody talk about mobile bench setups vs rolling carts in shops?
I mean, I spent like 6 months working off a rolling cart at my shop in Austin, always moving it around so I could stand near whatever PC I was working on. Then a buddy let me try his fixed mobile bench, the one with the big butcher block top and locking wheels, and honestly the difference was night and day. The cart had all my screwdrivers and testers scattered in trays that slid every time I pushed it, but the bench had these deep drawers with dividers, so I knew exactly where the 3mm hex driver was without looking. Maybe it's just me, but I feel like the bench made my repair time drop by maybe 20 percent, especially on motherboards that need a steady surface for reflowing. Rolling carts are fine for quick swaps, but if you do any soldering or board work, they just wobble too much. Has anyone else switched over and noticed the same, or am I overthinking the whole thing?

I worked off a cart for two years before getting a bench, and honestly the wobble never bothered me much since I mostly do swaps and cable work. Sounds like your motherboard jobs are the real reason it helped, not the cart itself.
