Upgraded a 10 year old shop PC with a used SSD, night and day difference
Pulled a 120GB Kingston SSD out of a decommissioned Dell at the recycling center last month. Stuck it in a 2013 Core i3 build that took 5 minutes just to boot into Windows 7. Boot time dropped to under 20 seconds and now the guy who uses it for inventory stopped complaining about the beach ball. Has anyone else had good luck reviving old machines with spare parts like this, or am I just getting lucky?

My buddy did this exact thing with an old OptiPlex he pulled from a dumpster behind our office. Put a 240GB SSD in it and it went from a doorstop to a perfectly fine web browsing machine for his kid. The real win is when you realize the SSD outlives every other part in those old rigs, theyre basically the only upgrade that matters.

You ever notice how the same pattern shows up everywhere? Everyone's always chasing the newest thing but it's usually one small fix that keeps the old stuff useful way longer than you'd think.
