Tried restoring a client's Windows 7 machine with clonezilla vs a clean reinstall, and the clone won easy
Client has a 2011 Dell in Elmwood with old tax software they can't reinstall, so I figured I'd try Clonezilla to a new SSD instead of my usual clean install. Clonezilla took 22 minutes and everything just booted. The reinstall route on a spare drive had me chasing drivers for almost 3 hours and still no tax software. I'm now a clone-first guy on legacy boxes. What's your go-to for imaging old machines?
