Thermal paste skepticism cured by a busted laptop fan
I always thought the thermal paste hype was just marketing fluff until my Dell Latitude started thermal throttling every 10 minutes on the road. Bought a $6 tube of Arctic MX-4 from a Micro Center in Harrisburg, repasted the CPU, and my temps dropped 15 degrees easy. Fan barely kicks on now even after 6 hours of running diagnostic software. Anyone else have a hardware fix that made them change their mind about something basic?
