Hit 1,200 clean motherboard repairs before my first screw-up with a junior tech

I let a new guy use my ultrasonic cleaner without checking the solution level and we fried a $400 board. Has anyone else had a milestone ruined by a simple training oversight?

That $400 mistake is exactly why we keep the ultrasonic locked up now.

Wait, but that $400 mistake might not have been entirely the ultrasonic's fault. I mean, those cleaners are pretty forgiving if you follow the basic rules (like not putting anything too delicate in there). But I've seen people throw in stuff that's way too close together or use the wrong fluid and then blame the machine. The ultrasonic itself is usually fine, it's more about user error or not knowing the limits of what you're cleaning. So maybe keep it locked up but also put a sign on it that says "read the manual first" or something.
