Dropped $85 on a thermal paste "kit" at Micro Center and it did squat
Honestly I got talked into this fancy paste kit with the little spreader and cleaning wipes when I was already in the store for a bad RAM stick, and the temp drop on my test bench was maybe 2 degrees. The stock paste that came on the cooler was just fine, and I could've used the isopropyl I already had. That's $85 I'll never see again for a tube of goo and some alcohol pads. Has anyone found a paste that actually makes a real difference or is it all just marketing at this point?
