Vent: spent 6 months standing on the left side of the escalator at Union Station before I figured it out
I ride the escalator up from the Red Line platform at Union Station every morning and I always stood on the left side reading my phone. Last Tuesday an older guy behind me just said "walkers on the right, man" and squeezed past. I looked around and every single person standing still was on the right, and the left side was clear for people walking up. I felt like such a jerk for 6 whole months of morning commutes. Has anyone else had a moment like this where you were doing a basic commuter thing backwards the whole time?
