My bus broke down on the 405 and we all just started talking

It was Tuesday morning, stuck in the usual crawl near Culver City. The bus just shuddered and died, right in the middle lane. Driver got on the intercom, said it would be at least 45 minutes for a tow. After the initial groans, this guy in a suit started telling a joke, and then someone else shared their coffee. We ended up having a full on, 20-person chat about nothing for half an hour until the next bus came. It was the most human my commute has ever felt. Anyone else ever have a breakdown turn into something kinda nice?

Ever get that on a delayed flight? Had a three-hour tarmac wait that felt like a party, totally get what @faith_king means.

Actually the original post was by someone else, but yeah those forced moments can be weirdly good.

Forced connection beats forced isolation.
